The Fraser Coast Regional Council's acquisition of the almost 60-hectare property at Takura in 2020 marked a significant expansion of the regions conservation network. This strategic purchase was aimed to protect the important ecological values of the land, while also providing a recreational space for the community.

By 2022, the council had made substantial progress in developing the Takura Environmental Reserve, enhancing accessibility and creating walking trails that invite both residents and visitors to explore and appreciate the native landscape.

Throughout 2024, Armsign worked closely with Fraser Coast Council in developing a series of educational interpretive signs that highlighted the reserve’s history, unique ecosystem and significant local species.

Our design team focused on user-friendly interfaces that provided an entertaining yet informative experience catering to a diverse audience, ensuring inclusiveness for all ages and interests.

We believe that well-designed signs do more than just direct, they should leave the public feeling both informed and inspired, transforming a simple journey into an enjoyable and memorable experience.

Armsign are proud to have been a part of a project dedicated to the preservation of the last remnant rainforest in Takura and its native inhabitants. We encourage anyone in the area to take a moment to explore the Takura Environmental Reserve and its delightful walking tracks. We hope that through the range of tactile, interpretive signage, you walk away feeling educated and inspired.
