In late 2024, Armsign closely collaborated with the Fraser Coast Council to develop a series of educational interpretive signs for the Takura Environmental Reserve. The signage needed to highlight the reserve’s history, unique ecosystem, and significant local species through interactive and engaging designs.

Armed with this client brief, our design team researched, sketched and conceptualised a suite of user-friendly signage solutions that allowed visitors to lift, turn, spin, touch and listen in order to enrichen the discovery and learning experience.

After refining the concepts, the team set about finalising the designs and preparing them for manufacture. Each sign featured a unique interactive element - be it a rotating reveal panel, a hinged flap, a rotating block or a detailed sculpture. With consistency of colour, typography and graphical elements, the result is a suite of highly customised interpretive signs that invite the visitor to touch and discover.

This project captures the essence of interpretive signage - transforming a simple walk into an immersive and memorable experience, allowing visitors to form a deeper connection to place through learning and discovery.
