Coonamble Visitor & Information Centre

Following a highly competitive community consultation and design process, Armsign were awarded the tender to provide a turnkey package for the complete fit-out of the new Coonamble Visitor Centre.

Working alongside both Council and Westbury Construction, we initiated the project with a proposed layout schematic and content suggestions, before engaging with the local community through a variety of site visits. Carrying out all aspects of the historic research, including Indigenous content, Armsign compiled the desired themes and began the graphic design process.

Providing a mixture of printed material in the form of wall graphics, timelines, acrylic panels and local artwork, the project was accompanied by a variety of audio-visual technology. Ranging from audio posts telling stories of the local community, to interactive screens as part of the evolving timeline and large digital displays highlighting the key landmarks of the region, all components come together perfectly to compliment the modern feel of the centre.

Scenic Rim Gallery Walk

Mount Tamborine, located in the Scenic Rim, is a picturesque destination, popular with tourists and local residents. As part of a main street upgrade, Armsign worked with landscaper John Mongard to create a public outdoor interpretive space - a place of pause and reflection - to admire and absorb the natural beauty and rich history of the region.

The project features curved steel structures with text referencing past and present, acknowledging the lands traditional owners. Etch plaques and printed Polycure panels serve to provide historic content for the inquisitive viewer, set against a stunning backdrop of native plants, stone walls and the featured timber pergola.

Armsign worked closely with the architect and landscaper to ensure that the custom signage and structures were designed and manufactured in a way to ensure the necessary engineering requirements were successfully met.

Tenterfield Shire Entry Structures

Cementing an already successful and positive relationship with Tenterfield Shire Council, Armsign were appointed as the sole contractor to create concepts and manufacture sixteen unique entry structures for the villages and nine at the major Shire entry points.

Each village sign took on the landmark features of the village it represented, with all coming together as a three-layer design. A solid Corten base layer, fronted by a brightly coloured, themed and shaped Polycure-printed panel, is then finished with the village-specific custom-shaped front, all manufactured together onto a welded base plate.

The Shire signs follow a similar pattern, but with the Corten sitting in front of a full-size printed panel, completed with anodised cut letters.
