First impressions matter, and a thoughtfully designed entry sign can leave a lasting mark on the identity of a place. Entry signage does more than just welcome visitors; it enhances community spirit, promotes positive values, and boosts brand awareness. This also plays a crucial role in attracting visitors to the town or region. It sets the tone for the experience ahead, fostering a sense of pride and belonging while creating memorable moments that endure for years.

The Power of Effective Entry Signs

At Armsign, an entry sign project begins with concept development led by our skilled interpretive designers. This multi-stage process consolidates ideas and themes gathered from startup meetings and client briefings. The aim is to transform these themes into a range of eye-catching and innovative design options.

The value of the concept development process cannot be overstated. Besides the design itself, this process allows for community and stakeholder input. Often it reveals themes, perspectives, and values that may not have been considered previously.

Our expertise guides you through this process. We understand that getting the design right is critical to ensuring your entry signs stand the test of time in design, materials, and community values.

Refining the Chosen Design

After selecting a concept for your entry sign, we collaborate closely with you. Together, we refine the chosen design by incorporating colors, fonts, graphics, and other identified themes. This ensures that the design genuinely captures your community's spirit, creating a warm welcome for both locals and tourists.

We provide a variety of color options, font selections, and graphic elements. Additionally, we advise on materials, construction methods, and illumination to enhance the visual appeal of the sign.

Designing for Longevity

One of the key considerations throughout the design process is the materials used for your entry sign. With a diverse range of options available, we ensure that your entry signs are made from materials that enhance their visual appeal. They must also be easy to maintain and blend gracefully with the surrounding environment.

Materials We Use Year After Year:

Weathering Steel or 'Corten' - This material is ideal for its timeless appeal and low maintenance.

Anodised Aluminium - Lightweight, durable, and corrosion-resistant, this option is perfect for various designs.

Mild Steel - When aluminium isn’t suitable, we use painted mild steel with a 2PAC polyurethane finish in your chosen color. Discover our paint colours.

Natural Stone - This is an excellent base material for nearly any design.

Sculpting the Flinders Ranges Skyline

A captivating image showing the Flinders Ranges entry sign.

Situated in South Australia, about four and a half hours north of Adelaide, Hawker is a small town with a significant role as the gateway to the iconic Flinders Ranges. It warmly welcomes visitors with a striking town entry sign that reflects its dynamic landscape and vibrant community.

The design features bold, angular structures that mimic the surrounding ranges. It is decorated with patterns created by Juanella McKenzie, an artist from the local Adnyamathanha and Luritja peoples. Subtle color highlights capture the shifting light of the ranges. Meanwhile, stainless steel-faced letters boldly announce Hawker’s name.

Streaky Bay: A Coastline of Colour

Nestled on the west coast of the Eyre Peninsula, the township of Streaky Bay offers a captivating blend of natural beauty, sandy beaches, abundant fishing spots, a dramatic coastline, and a welcoming community. Its laid-back charm, complemented by the distinctive town entry sign, creates an inviting atmosphere that leaves a lasting impression.
